Marsh fishing big tides

Any tips on marsh fishing when there are big tides? Always seem to struggle when there is lots of water moving in or out. Last weekend had a big falling tide pushing water out and east wind pushing water in and didn’t catch much. Thanks.

Maybe Fish bigger bodies of water, tide will not be moving as fast which could give the fish break from all the current? Only a guess

I did better on reds with the falling tide. Better on specks with the rising tide.
Pond drains for reds, mouth of passes and bayous for specks
You can always find a bit slower water downstream of structure. If you are fishing the bottom you will obviously need heavier weight.

Ive had some good redfish days in cuts and canals where the water was blasting through. I don't think the reds care much.
Cant help you with specks in any conditions. I'm horrible at catching them

I have fished for specks at the mouth of trenasses emptying into pipelines on big tides. I have done very well; just make sure you have enough weight to keep your bait in the strike zone. Also keep a sharp eye on the water level. I got so distracted catching fish two weeks ago that when I went to leave , I was grounded. I had to leave the boat and jump into the marsh grass and push hard while rocking the boat. The push pole was not enough to get me out.
