Guy should know better than anybody. Don’t run your mouth about high school football. Way too many variables.

Poor guy has all summer to chew on those words

North LA gets so bent out of shape when it comes to HS sports. Especially when they lose

I mean….maybe this is 5D chess?

I’m sure he has a lot more interactions and potentially bad blood with Ruston

Neville had over 300 yds on the ground against Central. Central didn't even have 150 total yds offensively. Neville dominated on both sides of the ball. In the end, the ONLY way for Neville to lose was a scoop and score on a blocked FG attempt and it happened. Central was fortunate to be in the Dome. The HC at Neville cost his team a trip to the Dome.

Maybe the 3rd times the charm to beat central at home for that “fortune” to turn Neville’s way

If it happens, I'll be there. Will give credit were credit is due... beating the 3 outta 4 top teams in 2-5A is pretty damn impressive.

Neville also lost to ASH by a score of 42 – 16, a team that had its arse handed to it by Karr 53 – 8.

After watching Central play on stream I still don’t understand how they ever lost a game. Who the hell beat them?

I think if you are Ruston and make it back to the dome again for a 3:30 game, come the day before. If you are worried about players doing dumb shite in NO get more chaperones. Getting up at 4 am for a 5 hour drive makes no sense to play an afternoon game. At the same time, Central is just a much better team. You lose that bad, can’t blame nothing, you just simply got beat

They lost to Catholic, BR (11-1). Catholic lost to Karr in the playoffs 21 - 19.

Lost @ catholic in the last month of the season 35-17. Only game the defense didn’t control the game. Catholic had some pretty crazy 4th down conversions that just never let central get back in the game after they got off to a hot start

Offensively central struggled a lot of the season in the redzone and to run the ball consistently. Their starting RB was injured in a car wreck right before the season and he didn’t come back until the semis, and they had another RB that was big down the stretch that wasn’t eligible until the final couple games. Offense often would go right down the field and then sputter in the redzone

Over the final month they seem to adjust their game plans, which had more of their defensive playmakers playing at WR and front 7 guys started playing more in heavy packages and in the redzone went to a heavier wing t approach which lead to much better redzone results to finish the year. Central was pretty thin at WR, so I think it’s not a coincidence they had troubles on the road at Neville without their best WR - who was the player who go a 60 yard bomb on Anding the first play of the title game

"When you win, say nothing. When you lose, say less". Central found a way to win a fb game on the road in the playoffs. Good teams find ways to win. Karr is most likely the best team in the state. Would like to see them play Central on a neutral field.

You an alumnus or have a son that plays or played at Central? Is Central and Catholic a big rivalry down there? My son plays at C.E Byrd here in Shreveport. I have 2 good friends, one son at Ruston and the other at Neville. Ya'll going to be banned from being able to drive on I-20

Beat WM, Ruston, Neville. Did ya'll also play Ouachita?

Just an alumni, played under Sid and Simoneux years ago so I know a lot of the staff. I just keep up with it from afar mostly

They played West Ouachita in the first round so almost had the full district sweep

In my playing days Ouachita played us tough as hell in the first round and we beat them on a last second Hail Mary funny enough

ETA and yeah catholic and central were in the same district when I was there, then weren’t for a while, now are again. I wouldn’t call it either teams biggest rivalry, but definitely is one. We swept catholic during my time there including a 62-12 beat down

I played at Byrd late 80s. Ouachita had a pretty good program back then. Ruston was the powerhouse in those days. Props to your school. I was rooting for Ruston. Thought it could go either way but would be low scoring. It looked like 2019 LSU playing 2024 La Tech out there though. Seeing fans of Central's post on here has me happy for the team.
