Family is going to TB, staying on the water in Milam, TX. We’ll be there right around Christmas. I’m planning to bring my boat. Any suggestions on where and what to fish for? I figure we can set some trotlines, but would bass or crappie be worth going after?

Can’t give you any fishing tips
But drive to cypress bend park and see the Christmas lights, especially if you have kids. It’s always a good time and cool to see, I think they charge like 2-3 bucks per car

The fishing is outstanding right now. We’ve been catching 50-100 bass a day. Alabama rigs and a scope Shad fished around balls of bait in creeks. We also limited out on crappie today. Fished just south of bridge with jigs on standing timber.

Small groups. You’ll catch 2 or3 off one stump and maybe 6-8 off the next.

Thanks. That's what I find at Kincaid and Indian Creek as well.

Structure jumping in less than 12ft of water has been good for white perch on shiners more than jigs, Just stump to stump to brush pile to laydown off the banks. 2 here 7 there then a pile of 20 then back to 2-3. just keep moving and a fresh shiner.

Thanks guys! Looks like I’ll be looking for live bait. I appreciate the advice. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be there when the Cypress Bend lights will be open. We would have to go 12/23 and I saw they aren’t open on Mondays.
