Lutcher teacher/coach arrested

LUTCHER - An assistant coach at Lutcher High School was arrested for indecent behavior with juveniles and misdemeanor sexual battery, according to the St. James Parish Sheriff's Office.
Dwayne Thomassee, 50, was arrested Friday after two teenage victims reported incidents that occurred between August and November 2024. Those incidents were reported earlier this month.
Thomassee was booked on two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery. This is an ongoing investigation.

Apparently this guy was hired in 2024 to be the LB coach. He coached at St Amant for 17 years previously. Graduated from ULL and SLU.

There was a Ryan Thomassie years ago, but a different spelling of his last name, and he was from down the bayou, not Lutcher.

The school ignored the accusations and he continued to teach/coach at St. Amant. The girls came forward and were dismissed. Now they are going to reporters with their stories. Go look at this story on WAFB on Facebook and you will see a lot from parents and the girls talking about this. His bond was also set very low at $5000.

I would think so. Not just them but the school goes as well. One mom said she went to them as well as school administration and nothing was done.
