I compiled the following records in response to a post on the SEC rant titled “Fire Brian Kelly”. I’m sure the OP is a troll, but I wanted to reflect on Brian’s first 3 years at the helm. I realize that he has 1 bowl game left which will skew his record up or down marginally.

Here is where we stand in the big picture during the Brian Kelly era.

Our head coach has won 10, 10 & 8 (potentially 9) games in 3 years in the SEC. BTW, he won the West in his first year & played UGA in Atlanta in his rookie campaign. He also recruited and developed a Heisman Trophy winner in 21/22. Nuss appears to be a very successful QB in his own right and we’ll see how he develops next year.

Let’s see how all 14 SEC teams have fared since 2022, when Brian Kelly took over the reigns in Baton Rouge. Texas & OK are excluded from this 3 year compilation.

2022, 2023 & 2024 (as of 12/12/24)
(ALL GAMES) (incl bowls & playoffs)

1) UGA___39-3____92%
2) ALA___32-7____82%
3) TEN___30-8____78%
4) OM____28-10___73%
5) LSU___28-11——71%
6) MIZ___26-12____68%
7) USC__22-15____59%
8) TAM__20-17____54%
9) FLA__18-19____48%
10) KY__19-20____47%
11) ARK_17-20____45%
12) AUB_17-20____43%
12) MSU_17-20____43%
14) VAN__13-23___36%

Overall CBK has lost 11 games in 3 years. 3 were the opening games to FSU, (#8)FSU & (#23)USC. The other 8 losses were to SEC teams:
2022 - (#8)TN, ATM & (#1)UGA/SECCG
2023 - (#8)ALA & (#20)OM
2024 - (#11)ALA, (#14)ATM & FLA

LSU defeated:
(#6)ALA & (#7)OM in 2022
(#21)MIZ in 2023
(#9) OM in 2024

+++++++++++++++++++++
22,23 & 24 Reg Season
(SEC ONLY)

1)UGA 22-2 (91%)
2) ALA 19-5 (79%)
3) LSU 17-7 (70%)
4) TEN 16-8 (66%)
5) OM 15-9 (62%)
6) MIZ 14-10 (58%)
7) USC12-12 (50%)
8) TAM 11-13 (45%)
9) FLA 10-14 (41%)
10) ARK 7-17 (29%)
10) AUB 7-17 (29%)
10) KY 7-17 (29%)
13) MSU 5-19 (20%)
13) VAN 5-19 (20%)

We’ve got a coach who wins 70% of his games and has a Top 7 (On3) incoming recruiting class. Geaux Tigers. Trust The Process!

Given the current landscape of college football, LSU’s NIL resources, and what
BK inherited..he is doing good BUT the opening season losses have to stop.

Tennessee and ole miss schedule the sisters of the poor for out of conference games.
Tennessee also had a super easy SEC schedule. Im not buying them

It wasn’t that much work to compile stats. I just felt the need to defend Coach Kelly & LSU on the SEC Rant vs an obvious troll attempt.

Its just the facts. Not trying to change anyone’s mind. But thanks for playing. You win a set of steak knives

It is wild how some of you cucks defend him on anything and everything.

Is Kelly a good coach? Yeah.

Has he taken the program to where he sold all of us on believing where it’d be in year 3? No.

Has he won the games he’s supposed to? No.

Has he had his team disciplined and ready to go from the start of the season? No.

It’s okay to be upset with Brian Kelly even though he hasn’t gone .500

I thought the same thing, but the schedule/results that I used from LSU Sports indicated that they weren’t ranked when we played them. Misprint maybe?

maybe if they had a better oline and protected their qb, he wouldnt have gotten hurt.

You give up 5 sacks, decent chance your qb gets injured.

Give lsu credit

Only because we knocked their quarterback out of the game and got a nice break or two from the officials.

that’s all it is.

he’d be #3 in all those lists in the SEC during his tenure here so far behind only elites Georgia and Alabama had he gone 3-0 in those games instead of 0-3. If he hadn’t started every year off on a sour note he wouldn’t have any of the flack he is catching here right now.

When you post stuff like this to make yourself feel better it hurts your argument. Ole Miss went 8-5 that year and finished the season unranked.

So it’s National Championship or bust, Right?

Well guess what? There are currently TWO active College football head coaches with a championship. Kirby Smart & Dabo Sweeney each have two. That’s it. Not Deboer, or Hueppel, or Kiffen, or Drinkwitz, or Sark, or any other SEC coach. Brian Kelly won two national championships at D2 Grand Valley State and played for a championship at Notre Dame. And yes I’m aware that he got destroyed by Alabama in the Finals.

Outside of the SEC? Not Ryan Day, or Lincoln Riley, or Dan Lanning, or Mario Cristobal, or PJ Fleck, or James Franklin, or anybody else in the NCAA, except Smart & Sweeney. So maybe Kelly wins one, or maybe he doesn’t. Time will tell. But if you are a true LSU fan, you support him and do what you can to help the program, financially or by attending the games. I just don’t get the hate. But you do you.
