Is there anything such as “bad money”. Maybe Monopoly money is bad I suppose.”

Serious, no school is gonna pay a guy anytime sooner than the summer at earliest. He may not be ready until after the season starts if then.
His injury was early. Is he planning on a medical redshirt this season?

He's gone after next year if he isn't a first round this year after his pre-draft evaluation. He can be guaranteed near $30mm if he waits one more year, then his NFL career can get figured out.

His issue is that he has all the ability to be great under the right coaching in the NFL. Would it be worth risking ending up in bad situation without guaranteed money and eventually falling out of the league early? For all we know, he can have another bad injury next year and be off worse, eventually never getting that first day call.

The deadline to declare isn’t until mid January. I would expect that we find out about most of the draft-eligible guys by Christmas, but even then you may have some stragglers. Remember Maason Smith and Mekhi Wingo both declared in January.

NFL draft evals will probably be coming in through the end of the month. I wouldn’t make any assumptions on guys staying or leaving based on timing. Not yet, anyway.

He is getting paid a hell of a lot of money at LSU. If he goes anywhere, it is to the NFL

LSU defense is going to be what it is next season with him or without him.

He is a one trick pony that got caught in that trick. It’s not about coaching because his coach last year was an NFL linebacker coach of a Super Bowl winning team. Say what you want about his coaching it’s his play specifically between his ears. He constantly overruns plays and gets out of position.
He cannot play defensive end. He was probably better suited to play safety because he’s pretty good in coverage, but with that injury, I’m not so sure he will have the same ability as he had afterwards If anything, he should transition to learn that position next year because that’s what he will have to play in the NFL Unless something changes with them physically
