He’s 72 years old. Time to enjoy what little life he may have left.

I know he had a stroke last year and hasn't recovered fully from that. Touring is a grind when you're healthy.

I knew this had to be coming. I saw them in Fort Worth 3 weeks ago & while they are still better than 95% of rock bands out there live you could tell he was not as good as he used to be. The man is a legend & he will be missed. It’s going to be interesting to see who the new drummer is. They said they already have a new drummer but they are waiting to announce who it is.

One of the all-time greats! That's a hard life.

Thinking one of the drummers from Steve or Bruce’s side bands, probably Simon Dawson from Steve’s band because Steve prefers British members

No shite. Saw Nico and the boys in ‘83 for the first time. Now they’re old man and we’re on our way there. Whew

Steve's nephew has been preparing to step in. I'm sure drummers all over are calling.

One of the most Spinal Tap moments in real life, captured on audiotape:

Of course, Nicko had the great quote, "Some c*nt's recording this..."

I truly love Maiden…with that being said, it was time. He will be missed but time stops for no one. The Maiden machine will still carry on. Up the Irons!

Haha!! Classic. Mission from ‘Arry!

I had it on vinyl way back then. They included as a b side or something. Don’t remember exactly what it was accompanying but I definitely had it on vinyl.

This is it. I also have it on vinyl. Listened to it all the time trying to figure out what the hell they were arguing about. Lol.
