The quarterback crop seems very sparse compared to this year and 2027. The ones that are good for 2026 are already committed. I know that means nothing as far as where they will end up, but it does mean that they will be at a premium next year $.
That makes getting a quarterback this year in the portal (or the high school one from NC) with starting potential and more than one year of eligibility a must for this year.

Some team is going to pick up Jackson Arnold and be vey happy.

This is what worries me about Nuss being non-committal at this point.
He could get absolutely PAID if he left.
ETA: This is by no means a shot at Nuss. More speculative of if they move on from Sloan and Nuss decides to follow Sloan.

Yeah, but proven ones with his resume and tools will be expensive. Maybe BK would be willing to spend the money needed to get someone like that who would give him a couple of years if Nuss leaves for the NFL.
Otherwise, I don’t see him getting into bidding wars for the “big fish”
I’m just thinking that we need at least someone other than Hurley and Swann with multiple seasons left after Nuss leaves because next year looks lean and we don’t know what the portal will be like then either.
I really think 2027 is stacked with QB talent in the HS ranks. Heck, Nuss’s brother, Haven from LA is the Underwood of that class, and another QB that’s highly rated from LA. We’ll get one of those. But, you can’t guarantee that they will be ready to start on day one.
As an aside,
Wasn’t Brandon Faizon from TN interested in LSU?

He’s not here for Sloan. He’s here for LSU. Remember, he signed when Orgeron was HC. He is one of the rare ones that really did sign with LSU, not a coach. He bleeds purple and gold. Even all through high school he wore P&G even though the school colors were red and silver.

That Bama tape will get him paid. Right system, Ole Miss, he could be fantastic imo. Even here if we tinkered with the system like for Daniels. Don't think he's special but he could win a title with the right group around him.
