Historical data indicates that the US economy has often demonstrated stronger performance under Democratic administrations. While most here will dispute this perspective and chalk it up to fake news, the fact remains that in my life time, the two major economic downturns occurred during the presidencies of George W. Bush (the Great Recession) and Donald Trump (the Pandemic Recession). Furthermore, of the 11 recessions in the modern era, 10 commenced under Republican presidents.

Another note--throughout President Biden’s tenure, the US economy has shown resilience, notably outperforming all other countries in its recovery from the global pandemic.

This upcoming transition marks a unique moment, as it will be the first time in in most of our lives (40 and under) that a Republican president will take office during a recessive/challenging economic climate.

I look forward to seeing how this plays out.

If you were born after the early 80s.

Reagan took the disaster Carter left behind and made many citizens wealthy and happy.

Only Biden rivals Carter for bad decisions leading to crappy economies.

That’s why Biden was re-elected to a second term. The economy was so good.

Wait.

I was born in '88. So no, did not see any of that.

I may have miscalculated the age of this board.

The whole dems have good economies and republicans wreck the economy is dumb. Yes, hurr durr even Trump tweeted that in that past.

Dems have good economies because they benefit from the clean up the republican did then they hand the next republican a ticking time bomb thanks to their horrible policies.

After the first debate, I told my wife I was voting Trump. I couldn't stand the thought of that poor old man being forced to work 4 more years when he should be somewhere eating pudding.

Throw out a bunch of C-Notes at a strip club and that micro-economy will be resilient as well.

That would make sense in this case with Trump taking over now, but then you'd have to look at the first Trump term.

That make no sense with Bush and Obama.

The economic recovery under Obama should not be a debatable topic.

Everyone should agree that was a success.

No, I mean you can't say the economy is bad because of the previous President and then not look at where we are currently.

Who was the previous President?
