My gf (from Guadalajara) is flying into BR then we are doing Nola for a weekend. She has never been to Louisiana. Below is the day by day. Let me know if any recs or adjustments. I'm keeping it casual until Sunday night dinner would like something upscale + nice bottle Italian red. FYI I grew up in BR and lived in Nola before moving to 30A and it's been years since I've been back.

Friday January 3rd
- Land in Baton Rouge Tony’s Seafood stop for boudin balls + boiled corn. Chimes for fried gator, Superior Grill Highland to see the hot mess of people, City Café chargrilled oysters and visiting old regulars.

Saturday January 4th
Parkway Tavern + drop bags at Monteleone
Stroll FQ + beignets
Frenchmen Street early show + Lena Prima Carousel Bar Show
Deanie's for BBQ Shrimp + late night at Erin Rose and Chart Room

Sunday January 5th
Café Envie for boozie white russians
Streetcar to Superior Seafood
Audubon Zoo
Les Bon Temps Bar + Magazine Street stroll (antiques)
Butcher for muffaletta + boudin.
Sunday evening music + dinner (this is where I need recs)

I wouldn't go to Deanie's. I would go to Mr. B's for BBQ shrimp. It's not a dressy place. You do have to look decent.

I don't like Butcher's boudin at all and I don't care for their muffalatta. Go to Napoleon House for the muff if you want to be around the FQ.

I'd go to Peche over Superior Seafood. You can take a streetcar ride for something else.

May I ask a few questions

Do you think you will marry this woman?

How old are you all?

What is your intention? Are you trying to impress her, or take her to all your old grubby hangouts? (I mean that in the least insulting way possible)

Haha I think it is well done. I dont think its better than some of the Acadiana heavy hitters but it’s probably my favorite in New Orleans

Two nights in NOLA. No great restaurants on your list.
If you want BBQ shrimp, you are better off going to Mr. B's right across Royal Street from your hotel.
Take advantage of the many excellent restaurants in the French Quarter for dinner.
