iPhone charging question

Got a brand new charger yesterday. Went to bed, plugged phone in
Woke up and phone wouldn’t turn on. Tried a few online tricks and got it to turn on, had 100% battery
Anyone know the cause of this? Glad I got it back on but wondering if it’s likely to happen again. Missed my alarm as a result. TIA

What model?
Was the battery completely dead, or close to it, when you charged?
Recent upgrade that didn’t fully turn the phone back on?

Battery was 100% when came back on
No recent updates, until this morning after the incident, when I updated latest software

Probably just crashed and needed a hard reset. I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens again.

Thanks. Hopefully so. I updated to the newest software this morning. Just odd it happens the first night I try a new charger
