And an Oklahoma win puts them in the conversation. Just enjoy being one of the elite.

Win or lose tonight, they already are a premier school. More premier than LSU....

Most of their secondary sports are in the top 10 in everything, the've won National Titles in other sports other than Football and basketball.

And rightly so. Two football titles in 3 years, a hiesman winner, two basketball titles and a good baseball team. I think that qualifies them. But hey, LSU is turning the corner as a sports progam, not just football. Our baseball team is back, the basketball is on its way back and lets not forget the other sports like track, womens basketball! We are in that conversation for sure!

They already do. Which is why I hope they get their asses beat tonight. They are LSU's #1 Rival along with Bama.

Who cares!!! We just have to beat their arse in Tiger Stadium in 2009. If we can't, then we don't deserve to be the mythical "team of the decade" and they do. What ever happened to earning stuff in this country?

as much as I hate to say it, the Heisman trophy winner is kinda the tie-breaker imho.

Good point. They would have two NCs and 7 BCS appearances out of 9 years. Very impressive despite recent history.

Also, it's really hard to believe that Miami won 34 straight games THIS DECADE. My how far away that feels.

Let's hope the UF game in 2009 is as epic as the last one in TS.

and how did all those trips to the BCS turn out? Winning your BCS should be a requirement for a "title" so big.

We're just talking about "the conversation." There won't be a consensus about the team of the decade anyway, so it's fun to bring up teams whose resume is better than you would think at first.

Oklahoma would have 3 BCS wins, but this will all be irrelevant in 12 hours.

um...I'm a myopic SEC FPOTBALL fan...so I only care about the football program of the decade in the SEC
