Baby Jesus, Yahweh incarnate, did a shitty job of selecting Kings. Saul, David, Solomon, Ahaz, Ahab, Jeroboam, all idolatrous murderous rapey assholes who displeased the LORD. These rulers were so terrible that God punished all of Israel and Judah by using the Assyrians and Babylonians to destroy them. You really want Yahweh helping to pick our leaders?
