Is it a private or public high school? I don't hear of many recruits coming out of there very much.

this will answer your questions

The Louisiana State University Laboratory School was established by the College of Education of Louisiana State University and has operated under its auspices for over eighty years. This coeducational school exists as an independent system to provide training opportunities for pre- and in-service teachers and to serve as a demonstration and educational research center. Since the school is part of the LSU system, students are required to pay tuition. The school is located on the main campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, a center for the petrochemical industry and a major deep-water port. Baton Rouge is the capital of Louisiana with a population of over 600,000.

It is a public high school run by LSU that charges tuition (like $3500 per year) but that certain LSU staff member's children can go to without tuition. It is no more a prep school for LSU than any other public high school in Louisiana.

Public, but, unless you're connected, you won't get in.

Okie Woods went to Tulane, and Brad Banta went to fUSC and played for a while with the Colts. Big Baby is a U-High alum, FWIW.

Its usually part of a package deal to get a coach here. NOONE gets free tuition.

not true. my sister just moved back to BR from Little Rock. she has absolutely NO connections, pays no money to LSU (such as TAF or any other). I graduated from LSU, she did not. Her husband is an LSU grad (undergrad & grad) but also does not contribute to any foundations, etc.

all they did was fill out an application, mailed it in early and their son was accepted.

As a U-High grad and fam of four who were grads, years ago ya did not have to grease the palms.

Now, you absolutely have to, to get in. None will admit it, but some cash, swang or swagger must be invloved now to get in........

All (that wanted to) the poli's kids have always gone there. From McKeithen, Edwards, Jindal, to the Martins kids, all were Cubbies....

Couple more that were Tigers, all of the Fry's, Del Walker, Jimmy Gilbert (QB), Jimmy Downing (played for Dallas), Charles McDuff........others....

the MSR is over 40' deep and the turning basin is greater than 1000' which makes it accessable by panamax vessels.

MY 2 kids are there. We had minimal connections (Dad taught there, I graduated there, TAF, etc), but certainly nothing that would have put us on top. That said, the elementary school my kids were in had produced students that had performed very well at UHS, my oldest was a straight A student, and had high test scores, so he made it in between 5th and 6th grade back when they took 75 students going into Middle School. Little bro got in the following year (similar grades/test scores, plus siblings get priority). However, since they opened the new elementary school a couple of years ago, if you don't get in as a pre-K or K student, good luck, unless your name is Miles, Crowton, Jindal or similar. I can say for certain that there will be some slots opening with coaching transfers, btw. From what I understand, although it was before we got there, Shorty's kid had some problems of some sort and ended up elsewhere before they jetted off to watch Daddy ruin the Dolphins.

I think they were at Aloysius. Or at least he was spotted there a few times at Mass.
