Parity

I think with NIL (college free agency), it will be much more difficult for a few top tier teams to go undefeated and dominate. We are seeming more parity and competition. A team can look invincible one week and lose the next. A new era.

When you look at actual talent distribution on teams, i really don't believe this is actually the case.
I think the way that it's impacting coaching is the problem. Coaches can't afford to lose kids so they are folding to stupid demands. Imagine if you had a 5 star linebacker that ended up really struggling to learn the position but your NIL collective shelled out tons for him, etc. You gonna put in the guy behind him that might be a better fit and risk pissing him and his 3 closest friends off?
And your collective that you convinced this guy was worth every penny?

Or will it be the exact opposite, the major programs with the most collective NIL money rise to the top each year because they buy the best players?

The transfer portal did more for parity than NIL, and now we are seeing all the best players on the field instead of on the bench for the historically top 10 teams.

It means that it’s harder for bigger programs to stockpile talent but also harder for smaller schools to keep their talent. In the end I think it’s about even.

Vandy may be an example of this. They do not have their QB without it.

This is one of the main reasons Saban retired. He couldn’t have 5 stars riding the pine

This isn't true. Lsus defense had performed better in the past when Perkins s wasn't on the field yet they wouldn't make the change.

Was your response meant for someone else’s comment? I didn’t mention LSU or their defense, but was referring to college football teams all over the US.
