Today's baseball scrimmage canceled

That has been the plan all along...3 7-inning scrimmages. More players get time to play and be tested against another school. I would be willing to bet that no one plays all 21 innings. Very few would even play 14.

On what Sunday’s scrimmage in Biloxi versus Samford will be about…
“We’re playing 21 innings. You have the head coach at LSU to blame for that because he wants to stay on the field all day. Excited about that. We’ll break it up into three seven-inning segments. We’ll get a few pitchers out there for three innings, a bunch of them for two. And we’ll probably, honestly, spilt the day in two. We have 22 position players, I believe, and one group will play 10 innings, one group will play 11 innings and get a bunch of at bats.
Shores will start the scrimmage

I am planning on seeing all 21 innings Sunday but, due to the hour that it may conclude, I will post my summaries Monday morning after returning home. I hope to see some LSU fans there.

This is pretty standard for baseball scrimmages. We’d do similar things in HS. Projected starters get a few innings and you get a lot of game time for the rest of the players to see who might can make a jump and contribute or even take a spot in the lineup
