Michigan just offered Bryce Underwood $5 million NIL offer. Does anyone else think is ridiculous?

That's the worth of the package for his career, not 1 year or 1 lump sum. its apparently the same one that is comparable to what LSU offered, not a different one.

I think it is ridiculous that people keep reposting it and there hasn't been a link posted. I also have no doubt that Underwood has always had an NIL offer from Michigan.

Absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn't pay it. Not with the bust rates these kids have.
Question, in hindsight, what would be the ideal NIL number for the season Jayden Daniels had last year? That's about the peak of what Underwood could achieve here individually. Was it worth 5 mil? Remember that's a quarter of the reported roster number for the 25 season. In 1 player that may not play next year. Then you renegotiate so on and so forth. It's even more ridiculous than the reported 2.4 number for Stewart.

You do know that offers can change, right? LSU will offer more than they originally did before signing day.

Not ridiculous. Pay a coach $100 million for 10 years…all you really need to do is win 1 national championship…a $5 million QB seems like it should be the norm…

UM received $515M in cash gifts given to the university in 2022.

Michigan is whole other stratosphere than LSU regarding alumni relations/donations.

Their endowment is $18 billion to LSU $1 billion.

$5M over 3 years is literally nothing.

SI Article

quote:

According to a report from On3's Pete Nakos, Michigan has offered Underwood an NIL package that would pay Underwood north of $5 million over the next three to four years. According to On3, this offer is "on par" with the NIL package that LSU has presented to the five-star gunslinger.

So they're essentially catching up to what we already offered. Doesn't sound like there's much to be worried about atm.

School endowments aren’t funding NIL. Harvard would have a hell of a football team

The problem Michigan has is they have no track record in running the offense Underwood will shine in. They do not have the WR talent we see in LA and the south in general.

Nuss is slinging the ball 40 times a game. JJ McCloskey avg last season was 199 ypg... Rushing he avgd 15 ypg.

So if Mich wants to throw around that kind of money then they will have to come up with a new offense scheme.

So you’re saying they don’t want him bad enough to have him and it has nothing to do with Michigan being a dumpster fire or him wanting to attend LSU?

If Michigan offered him $10M, he wouldn’t go? Or $20M?

Would it matter to you?

I have no idea if they want him that badly; guess they don’t though if they’re not giving him what he wants.

All he has to do is send his LOI to BR and it’d be over

Even that doesn’t matter. He can request his release or even transfer. Happened with Alabama players with Saban retired.
