Deputies with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office are searching for a Baton Rouge man who is wanted in connection with a series of ATM thefts across multiple parishes. According to law enforcement, Alfred Roy Cobb of Baton Rouge allegedly used construction tools, including a heavy-duty cutting saw, in his attempts to break into various ATMs. Deputies have labeled Cobb as “The Saw Bandit,” according to a post on social media.

The sheriff’s office said in the early morning hours of Oct. 12, a bank ATM in LaPlace was damaged by individuals who tried to get access to the internal vault, to steal cash. The suspects used heavy construction tools such as crow bars and a heavy-duty cutting saw, to break into the machine. Cobb’s attempts to get money from the ATM were not successful, authorities said.
Using crime cameras and after investigating further, the St. John Sheriff’s Office was able to identify a lookout vehicle involved in the Oct. 12 incident.
Detectives worked with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office (Albany) and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s office, to identify the suspects and vehicle involved.
The identification of the lookout vehicle’s owner led detectives to 37-year-old Daniela Lucas, who is currently in custody for several similar incidents, including the incident from St. John Parish. Lucas was arrested and booked Oct. 23 with simple burglary (felony).

Upon further investigation, Alfred Cobb was identified as the main suspect who is believed to be the orchestrator of the ATM burglaries which occurred in St. John the Baptist Parish and other surrounding areas.
Cobb currently has several outstanding arrest warrants in surrounding parishes because of his actions and the investigations of the respective agencies.

I still don't understand why so many people commit crimes in their personal vehicle with a tag on the back and their cell phone in their pocket.

You do realize that the average person is basically retarded these days right? If you have a good job around real professionals and only interact with people on your level, it’s easy to miss just how incredibly unintelligent and short sighted your average adult is.
Add desperation and a drug addiction on top of a room temp IQ and you get the gentleman in question here. I’d bet my house on it.
