Back to back road games

In the SEC, playing back to back road games usually does not favor those teams. A&M wins against LSU.

This weekend will be the 9th time LSU and Texas A&M meet as AP-ranked teams.... LSU is 8-0 in those meetings.

Now look at who has won the home game in the past, what, 7 years?

History doesn't matter. These are new teams. Hell, they aren't even the same teams that played week 1.
What does matter is that we are going to kick your arse in your own house because we have a better team and better coaching, and you have Connor Weigman, who is going to hand us the game in the end.

And seriously dude, you should not be looking at the past to justify aggie winning this, because history tells us that the minute aggie gets close to winning a title they fold. Just make sure you have some stiff drink around the house for after the game because it will likely be one of those night that ends with you sitting in a chair, sighing deeply, and mumbling to yourself, "Damn it, we haven't changed at all."

You would think that a program with such an empty past as aggy, they would try to avoid bringing it up at all costs.
Tigers by 2 scores.
Connor Weigman....

It does come down to which Weigman we get, sure, but the point of the thread is to look at records of SEC teams in back to back road games. Teams that have to do that usually don't win both games.

You may be right, but Brian Kelly's past also shows he can't win the big game either. We will see on Saturday, but I appreciate your bravado on the subject. Will it be whiskey or a cigar is the question. Here's to a cuban!

sigh. It's a thing whether you choose to believe it or not. back to back road games never fair well for those that have to do so in the SEC. Just look at the record.

Patterns are really good at predicting the past.

K
Youre speaking in absolutes now about past tendencies that have absolutely zero affect on the future.

Good point. Generally they don’t fair well. Not never.

We have yet to play even close to a complete game on both sides of the ball. Nuss is due, Green I have a feeling is gonna have a big roll in this game along with duram. The defense will miss some assignments for sure but they will have there moments. Weeks and Penn are going to terrorize Moss and your Rbs! Gonna be a tough game but in the End. Tigers Win

Wegmans coming out party was against lsu.
Dont expect him to be clueless. Quit the opposite. He will be ready.

It's not bravado. I just understand the simplest underpinning of this game. It's the Aggies biggest game in years, and they know how those have gone in the past. They may want to overcome it, but they are sure to have doubts. When those doubts creep in, the Aggies are going to fold.
LSU, on the other hand, played their biggest game of the year two weeks ago and won. Then they played their biggest game last week and won. Now they are playing the biggest game of the year this week, and our next game will also be the biggest game of the year as well. So, it's just another big game for us, and the late win against Ole Miss gave our team confidence. They aren't doubting anything. They have faith that they will find a way to win.
Over-Confidence can get you into trouble when you play against confidence, but confidence always prevails against doubt. And it doesn't matter what stadium it's being played

I agree. This team is battle tested. They went into a hostile environment vs USCe and went down 17-0, didn't get rattled and came back to win. Played against a OM team with a high powered offense that wasn't a good match-up and managed to pull out a win. Then, instead of a let down against a good team on the road after the opponent had a bye to rest and prep, LSU goes in and dominates.
LSU is getting consistently better every week. A&M is still inconsistent. getting Zy back, the emergence of Durham, Swinson and Weeks and the development of the defense by Baker has transformed this team. No doubt, LSU can lose, but they are hitting their stride right now.

I do agree, it's definitely not something I would choose if I had a choice.....playing back to back conference road games.
But I'd also say that I'd not choose to play Arkansas on the road after coming off a big win, where one often sees a let down, going to play a team coming of a bye with 2 weeks to prepare for me. I was very worried about that and we managed.
Hoping we can be a trend buster Saturday as well.
