Factory yes, aftermarket you can do it for a lot less. Sucks that these will be unobtanium for most people who would appreciate them.

When the grid goes down and you need to skedaddle out of dodge it might come in handy

High school me would have been impressed. Now I'm like whatever: just don't drive like an a-hole.

Not really. Going that fast is more than just a powerful engine. It will cost you more than a corvette to make another car go faster, and will not be repeatable and by far less safe.

Every 5 miles of interstate has 1 mile of straightaway so that you can drive your Corvette 233 mph to escape a zombie apocalypse.

I meant under a million. T1 or UR build them all day long.

You obviously don’t understand the entire concept of the video

I responded to a specific comment that a comparable car will cost a million. I understand exactly the point of the video and the difference in oem vs aftermarket cars.

Ok, then build a kit car that goes 234mph, video it, put it in mass production, then start a thread about it.

GM has been wanting to go all in on a mid-engine Corvette for decades. This is it.

Nice. And to note in 1988 the C4 Callaway Corvette Sledgehammer hit 255 mph.

Some nerd in the comments left this little tidbit.

Too bad nobody had a phone to record that in '88.

I know a Dr.that bought one of the souped up Corvettes a few years ago.
Paid $100,000,price included 3 days at a track(Detroit,I guess) with a professional driver giving him lessons on how to drive it.

More money than sense if you ask me.

Don’t need to build a kit car, just get the right fast car to start with and make it faster.

Shitty screenshot from a shaky video but that’s going through the lights at the Texas mile. Trap was 188.

I know plenty of people who drive $80,000 trucks to pull their $100,000 boats, I have neither but if it’s your thing and you can afford it then so be it

Indeed, I’m a little salty from life in general right now and I’m sure I came across as being confrontational. I didn’t mean to be, my apologies

Imagine the gas mileage at that speed! Must be at least 150 mpg!

I once was a snob when it came to American sports cars. The C6 Vette changed my mind. The C7 and C8 have only reinforced my new way of thinking. For me the standard HP is fine. But 233mph! Whoa mama.
