I need to pick up a bucket of gumbo for the LSU game Saturday. I would normally make my own gumbo but won’t have time to make it Saturday since I’ll be in NOLA for work that morning.

Your best bet is going to be going to either langensteins, dorignacs, or Zuppardo’s and getting a couple quarts of their gumbo.

Herbsaint has the best gumbo in the city and it’s not really close but not sure a) they’d sell it by the gallon (but maybe) b) you’d want to pay the cost of that gumbo by the gallon.

Ok, I wasn’t thinking about going the local grocery store route.

Have you tried Chief Ron’s Gumbo Shop? Looks like it’s right off I-10 so I could get off and get right back on the interstate

Chris’s Specialty Meats has some frozen. Not sure if it’s “the best” but should be serviceable

I’m sure that would be a great option. I really like the Zuppardo’s gumbo but my recollection is its duck and andouille. Great stuff tho.

You can get a gallon of Gumbo Ya Ya at the commissary near Mardi Gras works for $110. It’s the Brennan’s family of restaurants commissary. They have seafood, duck and andouille etc.
