Open Primary Ballot Amendment

Montana has an Open Primary initiative on the ballot for the upcoming election.
We currently have democrat and republican ballots in primaries.
This would put all on the same ballot and the top 4 vote getters would face off in the runoff election unless someone garners 51%, similar to Louisiana's system ( I think)
I'm am inclined to vote against this change. My gut feeling is this is fine until things tilt blue and then you get Oregon, Washington, California on your hands in Montana.

Yeah, the next step is doing like Alaska did and implementing Rank Choice. It's a scam to keep Republicans out of office

That is true, and also it allows for the dems in your state to push their votes to the less conservative nominee if it looks like their candidate (and there will most likely only be 1 dem candidate in that final field) doesn't have a chance. So in the short term it will ensure that you have less conservative Republicans being elected.

Rank choice is a scam and should be avoided at all costs.

Peltola also would have won a "normal" plurality election that existed before RCV.
The issue was vote splitting for the GOP, and Begich's supporters refusing to put Palin second on the ranked choice ballot.

Vote no. It (CI-126) along with CI-127 opens the door for ranked choice voting.
It aggravates me that we (MT) are seeing a ton of ads promoting it and trying to make it sound like a positive thing. I have yet to see a commercial or anything pushing back against it.
