Listened to it one hour after posting yesterday. I've been waiting on this. Welcome back Mike.....
This intro is perfection and Pertrucci's solo is 100% ridiculous. They have all been in their musical prime for 30 years now!

Don’t like that they (James?) usually “softens” their choruses after blistering through their openings, but this is a killer track. Really loving it!

Really happy to see Portnoy back in the band! This single gives me Black Clouds and Silver Linings vibes. Can't wait to see them in February!

5 comments for this...no hope for mankind. At any rate, I'll be there on Feb 12th when the Dreamers play Hard Rock in Biloxi.

Radio City Music Hall in March for me. Saw them last at the MSG Theater for Dreamsonic.

Wish the direction of this album was more proggy and less straight ahead metal but it’s great to have MP back.

Midnight Messiah is the best of the bunch so far - very Train of Thought-esque

I have no expectations or faith in James' vocals moving forward, so it is was it is.

Hopefully they have a set list heavily focused on their 40th anniversary tour for the Biloxi show.

I'll be there to meet the band as well. Need to remember to bring my Majesty to get that JP autograph on the backplate.

Did they send any details on what time the meet and greet is?

You can’t complain though, as they’ve used your formula for every album since MP left. I knew when he came back the metal was back as well. Thank God. I don’t need another Rudess solo album with DT as the accompanying band.

Been a fan since I saw them on the Images and Words tour in the early 90s. Going to try to see this tour - I haven't seen them in a long time.

My preorder of the album arrived yesterday. I ordered the artbook version, 2cds, Bluray, hardbound book with lyrics, liner notes, Hugh Syme illustrations, etc. Haven't listened to it yet, maybe this weekend.

I love Portnoy. The Winery Dogs are one of my favorite bands, but I'm not a metal fan, so Dream Theater is not my thing.

I do appreciate their musical abilities.
