Trout/Redfish Guides Calcasieu/Sabine Lake

Would like to take a client fishing in October, but it’s been years since I chartered over there. Used to go with Jeff and Mary Poe, but I know they’ve moved on. Don’t need lodging, which I know HRG guys used to push, just a boat for 3 sports to try and catch some fish. Any recommendations?

We book our guide a year out to get an October weekend. You may get lucky and snag a weekday but the good guides are typically booked full in October months out.

Yep! These guys are down the road from HR&G and great. I'd try them and HR&G. Rod and Gun lets you do "drive in" trips.
I don't think you'll have a problem finding anyone. I hear its slow thanks to this booming economy.

Can also vouch for Bay Hippie. Been with them a handful of times and always did well. I dont remember the guide's name, but ask to go with the one that fishes back up around salt ditch, that dude limits.

Waltrip is awesome. And he will usually link you with other good guides if he doesn't have an opening.
September- November is the best fishing. So getting a guide may be tough this late in the game if it's a weekend date.

Did you find a guide? ? If not I can make a few calls to see if any of my friends that guide are available.
