Anyone here a member of Diamondhead?

Curious about the social scene there for golfers. Is there a decent amount of Gen-X / Mellinials on the weekends that play consistently? Is it a friendly and welcoming environment to new members? Is there an MGA? How often do the have club tournaments?

Obviously these are questions I’ll ask the club as well hut curious about some first hand experience.

Ill preface this by saying I know very little about the club and have only played there a few times but I am pretty sure it is completely surrounded by a massive retirement community and would assume the majority of the membership is gonna be boomers. With that said nice having two good courses and seems like nice facilities and all that. Probably not to expensive either.

I have played both courses a handful of times. Always in great shape. Staff is friendly. Food is great. Their MGA has plenty of games and tournaments. Practice area is great. The members all seem to be older, there are some with younger kids as the MS Gulf Coast has become a real estate hot spot. I would expect that trend to continue. The members I played with were early 50’s and for what they told me they paid, it seemed like a good deal.

My mother had a condo on 18 on the Cardinal course. When she bought it back in the 90's a lot of snowbirds lived in the area renting houses and condos. My mother rented hers during the winter (Jan thru May). Don't think it's that way now with the economy in such disarray. She sold it right before Rita. It was a nice quite laid-back community Imo, and the course's seemed to be in good shape and not very crowded. Good place to stop on the way to Florida and break up a long drive.

I left a range finder in a cart there years ago. Poke around lost & found and let me know if you see anything.

It looks like $210/mo for non POA member, if I understand correctly. That doesn’t include cart fee, but it’s still a value.

Played there a couple times

Everybody there is old AF

Some lady yelled at me for playing a ball near her yard(it was in bounds)

Course was in good shape. Not a great track though

I LOVE the Cardinal. One of my favorite courses to play. Pine is very similar to a Beau Chene type course with a ton of houses but still always well kept.
