I'm going in for a second interview for a company in Haltom City this week. I lived in Las Colinas around '99-'00, so I have a very general idea of the surrounding area. But, I know alot has changed.

If I accept get offered and accept the job I plan on just renting for the first year so I can get to know the area we'll. Would appreciate any feedback and possible suggestions of a good area to live.

Thank you.

Las Colinas is still okay I think. There's a mixed use development next to the rail station that is nice.

Colleyville might be another area to consider.

Good luck on the interview

Are you single? If so I would live in Ft Worth.

I thought about Keller. I have a good friend that used to live there. Isn't that about 10 minutes away?

Give or take basically. There's a lot of growth as you know. Lots of nice housing options from apartment living, established neighborhoods and new development. You have the right idea... take a year to explore and make a firmer decision.

There or 7th Street area near the museums. That area has exploded with new apartments and condos full of single people. The commute to Haltom City would be a little further though so it depends on what lifestyle you are looking for, urban single life or suburban quiet life

I think for right now the urban life. Walking distance to bars and restaurants preferably. After a year I'll buy a house and move out a little.

I'd live north of 820 and make the 20 minute commute from Grapevine, Euless or Keller. Colleyville Blvd (26) near Mid Cities Blvd would be a good location. Close to great restaurants, shopping, events and beautiful women. I can't recommend any apartments though. Definitely don't live in Haltom. I'm very familiar with Haltom 121. I owned a rental home right off 121 in Haltom and one of our manufacturing locations is located on 121.

Sister lives in Keller and until her daughter moved to Georgia for school and now career sis has refused to move even for drastically more income (BIL used to be the #1 salesman worldwide for Lilly pharma and then management with a couple of other pharmaceutical corporations and would get offers to relocate monthly, now because she refuses to move he works at CVS).

I lived out of the Mid Cities area when I was department manager for a chain of surgical hospitals in central and east Texas. Wasn’t home much so never really settled in but it was pretty convenient to all of the stuff that goes into living.

I live not too far from there, it used to be just a dirty little town that was sort of a railroad stop for for grain, all of that's changed, built up with nice new subdivisions, everything you need there from a shopping standpoint, good schools, etc., thing is, it's imbedded in surrounding subdivisions like all of the metroplex, there are tons of places within easy driving distance from there that you could live

Looking at the area I recall they are ripping up a bit of 121 for improvements (since April). Other then that seems pretty quiet. You have the nicer areas to the North and East, and you have Ft Worth within easy commute distance.

Not to bad all considering.

This. West 7th has become a little dark recently but that entire area is full of young singles and college aged folks
