I was in Woodstock last week. It’s one of my favorite places to do for a weekend.
Eat at worthy kitchen
Go to long trail brewing
Stay at the Woodstock Inn
Eat at Prince and Pauper
I see you’re saying you’re going to Salem in October. My advice would be DON’T.
In Stowe, there’s so much to eat and drink. My advice is
Doc Ponds
Alchemist (briefly, it’s overrated but still good)
Hen of the Woods
Prohibition Pig
Stowe Cider (good bbq here too)
Idletyme
Michael’s on the Hill

Are your dates already set? Just wondering why you pick a date a few weeks after peak leaf season…

Take the Cog Railway up Mt. Washington. Dress warm for that though, coldest recorded temps ever up there.

That's not exactly middle

And yeah you will be good, might not see much in northern NH but everywhere else should be peak

Seconded. And I'll add The Bench (pizza), Von Trapp Brewing, and Edson Hill.

Salem in October is nothing but a traffic parking nightmare
Plenty of other places around coast and that area you can visit instead
Woodstock is a neat little town, highly recommend

Edson Hill is such a cool spot up there. Should be nice and cool then, which is perfect for their downstairs bar or patio with the firepit.

Red's Sandwich Shop in Salem is a good spot. Its been a while since I've been but really enjoyed it and fries were incredible.

Just saw this on FB...
For those planning to visit Salem this fall, please keep in mind the city is asking visitors to use the commuter rail, ferry, or one of the free staliette parking shuttles rather than trying to drive and park in Salem. Last year the city of 44,000 residents experienced an average of 65,000 visitors on October weekends. For perspective, there are only 4,000 public parking spaces in the city.
More information about the parking shuttles and public transportation can be found at www.hauntedhappenings.org/maps-info

Yeah, that’s the official statement. The unofficial one is “will you people please stop coming here?”
