1995 Nebraska was arguably considered the greatest college football team of all time.

6 years later it was 2001 Miami.

It took almost 20 years for the next great college football team to emerge, 2019 LSU and then the following year it was 2020 Alabama who is still considered the greatest college football team of all time.

Who’s going to take that title next?

Why would you think 2020 Bama was as good as 2020 LSU… it’s not even close… as great as 2001 Miami was they would not win a shootout with 2019 LSU.

Alabama played 11 SEC teams that year. Those teams finished 2-12 in the in the SEC. They defeated 5 teams who finished ranked in the top 25.

They only had one game finish within a one score margin (won by 6 over Florida in the SECCG) and only had one other game finish within two scores (15 point win over Ole Miss on the road). LSU had 3 games finish within one score and another within two scores. Alabama outscored its opponents 48.5-19.4 while LSU’s margin was 48.4-21.9. Alabama also had more guys drafted from their 2020 roster as well.

Let’s be honest, LSU probably isn’t even the second best SEC team of the last 10 years because 2022 Georgia has a better argument than them. More dominant AND more players drafted.

That’s gotta be rough, thinking you had the greatest team ever when two teams in your own damn conference outdo you by a clear margin in the 2 of the next 3 seasons.

They were very dominant in college too. 4th in PPG on offense (39.6) and 1st in scoring defense (8.6). Their 2nd and 3rd stringers were playing entire 4th quarters in half their games that season.

I freaking hate Miami but they only won one game by less than 10 points that year...they were amazing...

They curb stomped Nebraska in the Rose Bowl
