Hey guys,

Looking to do my bachelor trip in Atlanta so I can hit the Porsche driving academy and play some golf. Any recs for 2 or 3 golf courses in the area that are available to the public? TIA

Rounded up some options a couple years ago when I was going to be there for a week. Wound up playing Chateau Elan, The Frog, and Stone Mountain and was happy with all three.

I played The Frog a little over a year ago and enjoyed it too.

I guess it depends on how far you want to drive. There aren't a lot of great courses close to the driving academy, so are you willing to drive an hour or so to play golf? Lake Lanier Islands is a fantastic course, but a little pricey. Lots of great views of the Lake. Chateau Elan is ok, there are 2 courses there so you would want to play Chateau and NOT Woodlands. Close to Chateau is Reunion CC, which is a tough course and in decent shape. If you don't want to drive as far, then you may have slim pickings.

Lake Lanier Islands has improved drastically over the years. It's better than Chateau. Echelon is a good track.

Depends on two things. Do you want near PDE? Or near where you are staying? I can recommend both so let me know.

I played Echelon when it first opened and was an extremely tough course. I remember the rough was thick and I seemed to be in it all day. This was when the pro shop was in a trailer.
