First time season ticket holder. Looking for people tailgating and need help. Looking to join a tailgate, or start a tailgate with others. Been to many games in the past, just never had season tickets before. Fun couple 50, we blend in with any group. Please email me at brianleblanc1969@gmail.com

You might get more hits on the thread with a better thread title. Something like "New season ticket holder looking to join a tailgate"

well capt brian, today is your lucky day. lol
i'm 51, and we tailgate with a group that is smack dab on the corner of Nicholson and Skip Bertman Dr. we are setup at the base of that new building where the old Alec box bathroom used to be. so we are literally 100 yards from the stadium. Hoppy's Corner is the name of the krewe. most of the people are within 10 years, up or down, of us. we all bring some sort of food, usually its discussed the week before........but certain games they'll do a rotisserie alligator, or some sort of sauce picante. we have a dj, a tv or 2, about 2-3 tents for coverage but we're also under the oaks on that corner. pretty tame by LSU tailgating standards, but family friendly and a great time. our kids are at LSU and they tend to stay near us more than the college tailgates.......but they're kind of tame themselves.
come join us.........however i will add, we don't have the same turnout for a lot of the lesser games.......but since Nichols St is game 1, people should be there. but likely won't be a good crowd until UCLA.

It wasn’t always as big as it is now. Last time I stopped by a couple years ago and I barely recognized any of the faces.
It was always a good location next to the bathrooms. Lot of visiting fans would walk by and stop for food. They always have some funny arse signs too.

kind of funny story, my dad and brother worked with hoppy for years. when i came home from the marines in the late 90's early 00's, my brother and i would meet hoppy and a few of his friends from Thibodaux\chackbay on that corner. started with a Styrofoam ice chest and 2 cases of Budweiser. i moved out of state again and came back and they blew that corner up.
you are right, it hasn't always been as big, and i went a good while not going, but 2 years ago when the kids enrolled at lsu we decided to get tix again and hoppy had always reached out and said anytime we're around to stop by. so the last 2 years we've going back. lots of new faces, but always a good time. hoppy is the man. doesn't even go to the games anymore. just goes out there for the people!! lol good arse dude.

That all sounds accurate lol Now that I think about it, I don’t ever remember him going into a game for kickoff. He just like feeding people and having a good time on that corner. You might know my dad then. We’re from that area and my dad’s a few years younger than Hoppy.
I can believe that’s how it started and just grew bigger. It’s hard to avoid passing that corner on game day…
