Mexico out of the tournament as Club America goes down in penalties against Colorado. I think it's a silly tournament, but still get excited to see Mexicans lose.

SCH will be here shortly to shite on MLS and say Liga MX doesn't take Leagues Cup seriously.

Let’s be honest here
It’s not a serious tournament in general
It’s already lost its luster and no one is watching
Until matches are played in Mexico and it doesn’t take place after 3 weeks into the LigaMX season. It’s nothing more than a money grab to fill stadium with LigaMX fans. Going straight to pens every match is stupid especially in the knockout rounds.

Called it
It's hilarious to me that you can't give any credit to the growth of the sport in this country on any level. Sure, Leagues Cup should be playing across both countries, but regardless, if this tournament was happening just five years ago, there would be no scenario where MLS would have eliminated all LigaMX teams before the semis. That's a legitimate development, no matter which way you look at it.
And you can't even disqualify it with the Messi argument like you tried last year since he hasn't played a second this year.

Look baw, I know you know this and are just trying to gaslight... but by discrediting the tournament, you're discrediting the level of play from MLS in the tournament, which was better than LigaMX which, again, is a clear KPI of league improvement within the last 5 or so years.
Don't be disingenuous... it's just us here.

Read between the lines
I only did it because you called me out
I haven’t said shite about Leagues cup all tournament
I’ve maybe watched 30 mins of it,

All the matches going straight to pens doesn’t tell us anything honestly
That and the odds are better for MLS have more teams advance because there is more MLS teams in the tournament
The measuring stick will always be the champions cup, especially now that it’s been tailored to help MLS teams out.
This thing is nothing more than a money grab

I would have liked Mexico teams to stay in it. Otherwise it’s just a MLS tournament in the middle of a MLS season. Boring

New to footy? Everything is a money grab hoss. Doesn't mean the results are null and void.

Um ok
Posted on 8/18/24 at 12:23 pm to StraightCashHomey21
So.. to be clear... you don't think MLS' success against LigaMX should be considered a KPI just because it happened in League's Cup?
Posted on 8/18/24 at 12:28 pm to Broski
It’s a non sense tournament with a silly format
We could have had the exact opposite outcome if the MLS sides lost all these PKs. It doesn’t tell us anything because the tournament is heavily set up in favor of MLS teams.
Columbus’s run in the champions cup is what we should be pointing to as signs of MLS catching up to LigaMX

It's still a tournament.
Just a really bad take by you.

The only one with bad takes in here is you
We all see what you are trying to do
Then all you do when I don’t give you the material you are fishing for is accuse me of gas lighting like an unstable woman does to people

My take that it's good for MLS to beat LigaMX teams after getting dominated by them for years?
Yep... terrible take

We all see what you are trying to do
Well.. yeah... considering I literally called you out for never allowing anyone to say anything positive about soccer in this country on any level, I wasn't really hiding.

So you won't answer the question and instead continue to gaslight
This is awesome.

Colorado beat 4 MX teams in a row and were the least impressive side in all 4

While I like being able to see MLS play teams in other leagues in games that are not friendlies.
It would be cool if we did with other leagues besides Mexico
I do not like that it takes away from US open cup.

I know it is just an okay tournament in general but the fall of Mexican Soccer and the Mexican Soccer Federation on all levels is honestly crazy.
