I do.
I owned an insurance agency brokerage for 7.5 yrs.
I was VERY involved with claims, esp during hurricanes.
Filed over 1200 claims in 7 years.
Allstate was, generally, the worst. So bad, in fact, that I cancelled my contract and voluntarily gave up tens of thousands of dollars to clients I couldn't move to other markets I had access with.

This is such a general question that it's impossible to share something that's useful to you. In what context are you needing information?

I used to work for Allstate years ago and they were generally terrible. Then i became close friends with someone in Houston and he has been treated wonderfully by Allstate after making two claims in the past couple years.

I also know people in other states with Allstate and they are wonderful to them as well. It appears that there's something about Louisiana that makes Allstate so terrible but I don't know what it is. Obviously it's expensive but everyone is expensive in Louisiana but regarding claims in other states, I've seen great things about them.

Bad for the broker doesn't necessarily mean bad for the policy holder. Thanks for the input but can you see what I'm asking?

I have Allstate currently (home & auto) and never had a problem. We’ve only had them for a few years after the previous company continued to raise rates.

I'm shopping home and auto. Have Quotes from Progressive, AutoOwners, some smaller outfits. I know everyone has an opinion and the local guy makes most of the difference but I've never dealt with Allstate. I hate to see all the knowledge and experience on the OT go to waste.

I always use a broker who offers a lot of different companies. Not sure I’d go with just someone who offers one brand unless they beat everyone but then I’d shop rates myself if they went up.

I’d prefer to just call my agent and have them shop it with the several companies they offer. Just switched mine and went for $570 to $470 per month.

Had Allstate for home and auto.

1 minor claim on auto, they fixed it but would only allow us to go to one of their shops and they used cheap aftermarket parts.

Had a home claim with them on our rental house that was hit by a tornado. Tore down most of the fence and some of the deck. It was a large deck off the second story of the house. It was completely unstable.

Allstate writes the claim for $500, which includes nails. Yep, they said they were just going to pick the blown over fence up and nail it back up, and nail the deck back together.

I fought for 2 months, had the city inspector come out and deem the deck unsafe, full replacement was required. They never budged, ended up replacing it all out of pocket for 14k.

Swapped in March from Progressive to Allstate after rates shot up and they kept giving me the run around for Hurricane Ida claim. I ended up short about 14k after they pointed the finger for two years.

Auto insurance went up about $50 a month for our two cars, but ended up with better coverages and will save about $1800 a year on our policy bundle (car, truck, boat, homeowners, jewelry).

Don’t try and be loyal to anyone. Especially agencies like State Farm and Farm Bureau that are generally higher to start and raise rates every year even without claims. Shop that shite every year and don’t be scared to switch.

Had Allstate Health Insurance for a year. Never had to use it.

Not sure if that helps but all I got.

Your question was not specific, at all.
I explained that I have more experience with insurance, and Allstate, than the vast majority of the people on this planet, and that I voluntarily gave up my appointment with Allstate bc they were so bad, leaving literally tens of thousands of dollars out there.

If you wanted a specific answer, you should have asked a specific question homie.

I had Allstate for about eight years. Rate increases were 20-30% every period. Went with Progressive a year ago and saved almost 50% for my four vehicles. When my policy renewed, rate only increased about 2%. I was involved in an accident where other driver was at fault. Her company low balled me on lost value, so had to file a claim with Allstate. They paid my claim, but then proceded to say it was an at fault claim, even though they got paid in the end from the other ladies insurance. Fault with LexisNexus to get the at fault removed from my record. Will never use All State again.

Not trying to be argumentative, I just wanted general impressions of the company. Do they pay as they should, can you count on them to be there when you need them, or do you have to get a lawyer any time you file a claim. I simply have no experience with them and I know the OT knows all.
