Big QB Recruits who De-Railed Programs?

thinking about UTenn's underrated (on the rant) talent based, i remembered james banks. him not developing, along with schaeffer transferring/not developing has hurt UTenn in the long run
then that got me thinking about Miami/FSU. both programs would still be on top if they hadn't missed so badly in QBs (berlin/wright for UM, rix/jesus/lee for FSU)
are there any other examples of programs completely being derailed by picking the wrong QB, or the wrong QB not developing?

Given another year to prepare though things may have worked out differently for Lee hence the RP derailment.

I wouldn't say that Ryan Perrilloux de-railed the LSU program because y'all are loaded with talent and will bounce back from this year, but I do think he was the difference in LSU possibly winning the west this year or at least having a good shot at it.
I think LSU would have been 10-2 worst case scenario this year with RP

I was thinking about this a little while ago and how lucky we were to have a successful run of QBs since its been the downfall of some big time programs
been saying that myself

Can't say I agree w/ that logic scoop. If you say LSU would have been 10-2 w/ RP but went 7-5 w/out and he was one of their most highly touted recruits ever, how did he not de-rail them? He certainly set them back a year.

This has ZERO recruiting information. It is of ZERO recruiting value. It typical Rant material.
Please move this post to The Rant.

Troy Aikman at Oklahoma did not work. Luckily for Oklahoma, both he and Barry Switzer realized it after one year, and Aikman transferred to UCLA. The transfer benefitted Aikman, UCLA and Oklahoma as it allowed Switzer to run an option offense instead of one with a pocket type QB.

Brock Berlin is still in the NFL, so he can hardly be considered a failure.
I don't think Miami's downfall can be placed on him, or Kyle Wright who at least had a cup of coffee in the league. However, you are right on with Florida State. Never have I seen such a string of high profile QB failures.
I would not put an LSU QB there because there has been no "downfall" yet. If there is, however, that QB will be Perrilloux.

it's about recruiting savior-type QBs who end up bending their program over in the end

well they did make a BCS bowl with berlin
wright was an epic fail, while UM had good backs and a good D, he couldn't do shite to help their O

hard to say that now.
prob could have plugged in 90% of the freshman QB's around the nation in at LSU this year and come out saying they have the potential to derail the program.

well yeah, but most freshman QBs develop
lee didn't, just like rix didn't
