if the Joseph rumors are true, this is a much better hire than getting Walker.

Joseph is at least equal to Walker in terms of coaching/recruiting, but prob a little better since he knows the state's landscape.

Let's hope he comes aboard.

Joseph recruiting NOLA is pretty much ideal.

I take it you mean as a position coach, and I sure hope so. As for the recruiting thing, I kinda felt Walker may have been a bit overrated in that regard.

Im not to high on Walker as a Coor.

basically what i am saying is that getting Chavis to run the D and a guy like Vance to run the DB's is icing on the cake.

its basically like landing Chavis as a DC and letting Walker coach DB's.

Vance Joseph's career path as a player and coach is very similar to Walker, except that he is 1-2 years behind him from landing a major coor job at the college level if he chose too.

OT, Les some guy on the radio just said he heard from someone who talked to an lsu coach that PJ Lonergan is the best center on the team right now including Helms.

lol, i didnt even know if he is playing Center. Could be true. I really don't know anything about him except people said he would be the next Garrett Wibel and only be known for setting records at Pluckers

setting records at a wing restaurant that Josh Innes does frequent remotes from is certainly nothing to sneeze at.

Joseph recruiting NOLA for LSU would be as good as it gets. He is well respected throughout the area, public and private schools.

well damn, if Vance is that good, could he possibly get an Asst. HC title or something to sweeten his deal? it's been asked a few times why a guy would make a seemingly lateral move. coming home is nice, but I'd like a little something to bump my salary

lets not get too excited here. Belowpar didn't sound anything close to convinced Joseph was a done deal or anything. All the good names seemingly fall through

OK,
What am I missing about Chavis ?????

quote:

Chavis's career at Tennessee came to an end in the middle of the 2008 season. Following a 3-6 start and a blowout loss to Steve Spurrier and South Carolina, Phillip Fulmer announced the following Monday that he, at the University's decision, would step down as head coach. Fulmer's resignation would ultimately oust Chavis as defensive coordinator. Chavis's final three games would bring confidence but major disappointment to his final days with UT, starting with an embarrassing 13-7 loss to Wyoming which would keep UT from making a bowl for the second time in four years.

I am not impressed.
