Marlboro guitar. I went and bought it today. This might be the best deal I ever got.

I got it home a few hours ago and have been playing it and studying it.
The tone and sound of this thing is off the charts.
It absolutely sounds like a Martin.
I put my rifle bore camera inside... if this isn't solid back and sides, it's the best job of matching grain that I've ever seen.
The top is absolutely solid spruce and even has some slight marks like Engelman. Almost Zero top deflection behind the bridge, even though this thing has been strung up for at least 30 years.
I can't believe how I lucked out on this thing.
I'm only going to need to do minor tweeking on the action, it's damn close to what I want.

Yeah I Know.
I'm going to post photos in the next few days with the help of a friend, and hopefully even a sound file of it.

I’ll be really disappointed if it’s not painted red and white like a pack of lung darts

Marlboro Acoustic Guitar

Yeah, I've been reading several different pages about them, including that one. Seems like people's experiences are all over the place. Some got junk and some got great guitars. This is a really good one. It doesn't really need anything done to it, but I will probably put a K& K passive pickup system in it.

I've also been looking at photos of different "marlboro" guitars, there seems to be quite a bit of differences in the construction and hardware.
Some don't have the center strip on the back bracing and have cheap looking bridges and tuners. I'm just guessing, but I bet these don't have a good quality top or top bracing.
The necks all appear pretty much the same but with different fretboard styles.
