It’s easy to be complacent when you let your feelings get in the way. Are you going to give an all out effort at “guarding an existential threat to Democracy”? Ask people like Benny Thompson if Trump should get Secret Service protection? It’s all out in the open. There would be no sad feelings about Trump losing his life. For Trump they just weren’t going to give that much effort.
