Beaver creek is not good currently. The greens are recently punched. Copper mill is probably the current course in the best shape.

Everyone will have a different perspective of "best" in the BR area.

My favorite publicly accessible course in the metro area is The Island. It offers challenging holes and you'll use a variety of clubs. The greens have never been the absolute best, but most of the time they are in good shape.

I like Copper Mill as well for the variety of holes. Their new greens keep getting better and better.

I felt like it was only a few years ago where it was around $60. When did it go up so much and why?

Because people will pay it and are tired of what BR golf offers (food, beverage cart, nice warm up area, good course conditions) so they drive to a nice course in BFE surrounded by a couple of really nice houses and tract homes.

Copper mill
Beaver creek

For a 9 hole course with better greens than those 3 fennwood in Zachary. $25 during week

Why is $95 insane?
If the course stays in great shape….and Carter gets a lot of praise around here….but is always slammed, this will keep revenue rolling while thinning out play.
If it still stays packed and slow, go up again.

So next thing you know it will be $130.

Good to know.

Got paired up with a single that lives there and he was telling me that a couple years ago it was 60.. the course made some upgrades bumped it to 70ish then recently new management has taken over and they increased the price to its current 95..

Honestly it's a bit much.. Carter is a great course, but hell for about 15ish bucks more and 20 minutes more drive for me I can play TPC

So the price of:
Gas goes up
Chemicals go up
Fertilizer goes up
Equipment goes up
Cart leases go up
Clothing goes up
Golf equipment goes up
Food cost goes up
Labor goes up
….and who knows what else, but….

Your round of golf should remain the same for the existence of the course.
Carter is what? 25 years old?

If a restaurant wants to stay in business, prices will go up. If a mechanic shop wants to stay in business, prices will go up.
Why not a golf course?

Carter is a fun track. But they’ve also gone up on hosting a scramble tournament there. We host one annually and have been doing so for 20 years. They sent new rates and it doubled!!

Their rate for hosting a scramble event is well above UClub and any other venue in the greater BR area.
