Unless and until the judge finds the jury verdict conforms to the law, typically at sentencing, President Trump is not a convicted felon. This Yale law professor explains this routine fact:

This is a standard principle. Why no complaints from the Trump camp about him being mislabeled?

It's a waste of time and energy. The media will call him that no matter what

Good point, but I think it's worth it to state the truth.

Of course, I don't trust Judge Merchan to do the right thing, but his statement in postponing sentencing was interesting:

"The original sentencing date was July 11, but it has been rescheduled for September 18, 'if such is still necessary.'"

There's a pretty good chance he will never be sentenced and remain "not a felon."

Have you seen his poll numbers since his “convictions”?

____________

He's leaving open the possibility that he won't convert the jury verdict into a final judgment of guilt. MAYBE he thinks there's a chance the Supreme Court's immunity ruling will change things.

It demonstrates their lack of accuracy and impetuous zeal to discredit the opposition. Tossing propaganda grenades...

Where are you getting this? The sentence and verdict are completely separate and decided on by two different entities.

Trump remains convicted, and will be unless the judge is forced to reverse it and send the case back to the DA after the SCOTUS ruling.

The jury verdict is not self-executing. There hasn't been a judgment of guilt entered. From the article:

"Despite media reports, Rubenfeld insisted that it’s “not true” that Trump is already a “convicted felon,” arguing that one is “not a convicted felon because of a jury verdict.”

“You are not convicted until the judge enters that judgment of guilt. Now, in New York, it’s very likely that Judge Merchan will enter that judgment of guilt against Trump on the same day that he issues sentencing."

Anything remotely negative about Trump results in downvotes.

Now watch my count for just saying that.

Having said that now they have to resist downvoting me since I said they would.

I gave you an obligatory downvote:)

To be clear, though, I was stating something that I thought was pro-Trump.

There have been some good answers. Mostly, that the "Trump is a felon," is actually helping Trump.
