What is a good place to live for an LSU vet school student?

I know the OT always jokes about El Cid but is that an ok area? I haven't lived out that way in 30 years. How is the W. Parker area?

Congrats on your kid getting into vet school! That is awesome, baw.

It's a short walk from campus. Less than 10 minutes to the quad.

Lots of new large apts off Parker now. Plus Burbank and Nicholson.

I would recommend looking at renting a house out by lake beau pre. Its right on river road so to get to the vet school would probably take less than five minutes, and you wouldn't have to deal with traffic going down one of the other roads where a lot of the students live.

This is what I am talking about. I can't tell if El Cid is serious or not.

Lake Beau Pre Is were I lived in 2015-2016. Not at all a bad option. Used to bike to campus from the river trail.

Don't live in el cid, the area isn't bad like the lofts at 333 are also really nice. Park place is ok, but the flatiron is supposed to be nice but really expensive, just be warned Monday and Tuesday evenings going down west Parker are a pain in the arse because all the greek life people take that road to go to chapter.

Thanks, not my kid but my kids friend from La Tech.
The friend asked my kid to check out a place since we are from BR. Then my kid asked me about it so I looked up the address they sent. It's Gaslight, right across the street from El Cid. I almost started laughing. I then told my kid, I don't know but I know who does, the OT.

If it's like UGA, vet school is 8 hours a day of instruction with about 8 hours of studying outside class, at least for the first 3 years before clinicals. Might as well stay in a dorm on campus, UGA has dorms reserved for upper class and grad students so you don't have to deal with undergrad hijinks and typical dorm behavior. I would assume all big schools have these dorms.

This doesn’t really matter for the vet school.

There’s houses to rent or buy down Burbank. Several new neighborhoods and existing homes just a short drive to campus.
