Gibson’s Steakhouse in Chicago. A review.

We were there last night. It was a fantastic Chicago steakhouse experience for us. As a party of five, we shared starters of lobster tail with drawn butter and crab cakes. Both were excellent.
Our steaks were the Chicago Cut ribeye, Porterhouse, and a Filet…all prime cuts and perfectly prepared. They each had a nice char on the exterior and were cooked perfectly to order. We also had the lamb, 3 double cut chops…medium rare. The lamb was excellent.
Sides were creamed spinach, mushrooms, mashed potatoes, and the “garbage salad”…all were huge portions and very well made.
Desserts were crème brûlée, chocolate mousse pie, and apple pie. Each order could serve 3 to four people. And each was wonderfully prepared and presented.
The wine and cocktails were all good. Service was professional, knowledgeable, and prompt. I highly recommend this place for a great meal in a fun casual setting.

Couldn’t agree more. We had six guests and it was the classic Chicago steakhouse experience. Fantastic service, great food with solid portions. Boisterous atmosphere. Reminded me of Clancy’s in NOLA. Perfect experience.

Fantastic restaurant.
They sell huge 24oz Australian lobster tails which, when paired with a steak and a gin martini, is absolute heaven. Lots of great pics on the wall by the entrance, too.

We had that lobster tail for an appetizer. One of the best decisions of the day.

Subtle brag I dropped $1000 on a meal

Gibon's is very good. That and RPM Italian were two of my favorites in Chcago.

Gibson’s is one of my go-to steakhouses in Chicago. I take a bunch of my clients there and always have a great meal.
They also have an excellent wedge salad.

Gibson's is my go-to with clients. They service large groups incredibly well. If it's just me and the wife, I have a few other preferred options (i.e. Smoque, Butcher and the Bear, Boeufhaus, Bavette's).

Glad you enjoyed it. We used to go to Gibbys a lot when we lived there. My buddy actually married a waitress from there. He is miserable and so is she but it was funny to watch for a while.
