I could use some help guys and gals.

To note: I have access to multiple four wheelers and a side-by-side Here in Louisiana

I am in another state right now with no access to land for riding (TX) and was offered more than I paid for a 2019 Honda side-by-side. I have until Sat to decide. I will probably be back-and-forth between states for a long time.

The other situation at hand:
I really want to do a Jon boat build and explore some waters as I’ve never done really here in Louisiana and learn more about bass fishing, etc.

It’s a project I’ve wanted to do with two of my nephews who are 13 and I have a little time to do it this summer. Depending on their camps, of course, and schedule. Might be able to start tomorrow with the John boat build.

I’ve looked at the used market. It’s OK.

I’ve been sick with Lyme disease for about seven years and I’m getting a little stronger but not much and other things. The heat does get to me, but I’m not sure who it doesn’t get to these days!

The winter time is great. I do love to hunt and will always hunt but like I said I do have access to other ATVs, etc. I would really like to explore bass fishing in the winter as well. Any good Gulf Coast Winter fishing?

The vehicles here are Not necessarily under my name but can be used anytime

I think the question is, would you sell the Honda pioneer deluxe 1000–5 That has sentimental value and is in use only to tow a small trailer where I live to the lake and get around the neighborhood with my dog.

I don’t know where I’ll be living in a years time

Or

Invest in the boat that I really want (the G3 sportsman or Bay)

vs

Start small (I have been getting by with a canoe and a trolling motor for years on bayous, cat island, lake Martin) and
Enjoy the process of the build
(And never get the offer I have now again on sxs??)

It’s an amazing bike with no issues still under warranty

The second I buy a new boat I know I lose big time

(How much are you guys paying for insurance per month? If I may ask for your boats that are around the $35,000 mark?)

My passion right now is fishing as I’ve been an avid outdoorsman for a very long time

Hard calls all around, but I did spend $1600 today for the Jon boat build (easily returnable)

Starting small is always a good idea in my opinion

Any thoughts?

Also, the offer stands until Saturday for the side-by-side

I’m going to have to register and insure one (or two) of the three any advice on registration through Progressive new boat versus old boat? Cost difference?

I’m not wealthy just wanna make a good decision

Thanks for the help Team

I’ve been in a period of acceptance these days with my illness and I just wanna enjoy the rest of whatever time I have left

Thanks OB!

Sell Pioneer and get G3
Is G3 enough to get into the gulf safely/comfortably

Or build a jon for lake fishing and bayous here

Keep sxs

If you go the jon boat route, eventually you’re going to want to go farther and explore more areas to fish. So I’d sell the sxs and get the G3, especially if you have access to other bikes for hunting.

My agreed upon value for my boat is $35k, and I pay about $45 a month through State Farm.

My Jon boat advice is to make sure it is at least 48 inches wide.

At 48+ inches you will be very stable but some are only 42 inches wide and those feel shaky to walk around on. At 48+ you will be able to walk abound on the boat and not feel like a canoe.
