I have the opportunity to place this course with a member in late July while visiting family. Anyone played it recently? He mentioned they just went through a pretty extensive renovation a few years ago. Green fees are $225+ for guests.

I’ve played Sharks Tooth and Camp Creek. Played this course several times pre reno then again 2 weeks ago and it’s by far top 2-3 in the pan handle!

That course is bad arse. I thinks it’s my favorite I’ve ever played. Played it 3 times last summer. Conditions were always peak. It’s pretty short, but the green complexes are super challenging. Beautiful piece of property. I’m jealous.

Before it went private it was my favorite course in the Destin area. It was the only one with elevation changes. I'd guess that now that it's private, it's it much better shape, not that it was in bad shape, but it's on an interesting piece of real estate. That said, that green fee is pretty steep, but from what I've read here, all the courses in the area have lost their minds on pricing.

Great fun course but if you're off the fairway, you will be in the thickest beach dune sand imaginable. It's very challenging from the sand dunes.

It’s probably been 8 years since I played it, but it was nice. It wasn’t fully private when we played so I’m sure it’s much different.

I have a friend who owns a house in 30A and is a member. I don't like spending that much for golf but gladly do that over all the $170 courses in Destin and PCB. Not as crowded and not gonna run into a group of guys that play only twice a year. Courses are in good shape but I wouldn't say they are in way better shape than any of the Sandestin courses, you just wont ever run the risk of 5-6 hour rounds like you do a the public resort courses.

Update—
I played the course in late July and it was a great golfing experience. Excellent condition and the greens rolled perfect. I really enjoyed the layout as well.

Definitely worth the play if you can.

We used to play this all the time before it went private.

I would love to get my annual 16-man tournament on this course the end of October.

Anyone have any thoughts, hook-ups, helpful hints on how to make that happen?

I love holes 4 & 5 that are by the beach. Standing on the tee box on 5 with the gulf in the background is phenomenal. Glad you enjoyed it.
