Flying into SF and will spend first day there before heading to the parks. We have Air BnB’s for the park stays but looking for recommendations for a decent place to stay in SF for the first night.

It takes much longer to drive into Yosemite than you think. Many small and very winding roads. Beautiful, but slow going. Mariposa Grove in Yosemite has the Sequoia’s and is great.

Went to SF and Yosemite in 2018. We stayed in an Airbnb in Sausalito for our time in the Bay Area and enjoyed it. You can get a nice view of the Golden Gate Bridge from that side.

We found a little diner for breakfast that was really good. It was called the Lighthouse Cafe. I think we went there 3 times.

I highly recommend doing a tour of Alcatraz. By far my favorite part of San Fran.

Yosemite was awesome! Would love to go back!

We just got back. We stayed in a hotel near the pier 39 area. About 2 to 3 block away. Good area. No matter where you stay there..do not leave luggage/valuables in car on street unattended. This was told to us by the valet attendants..and it was in a legit nice area.

Other than that..Great freaking trip.

In Yosmite We stayed in oakhurst and it was amazing.

Eta: if you are I deed staying in Oakhurst and not in the park itself, check out Bass Lake. It's beautiful.
