National award was delayed while his dad had Belhaven at the World Series where they finished as runner up.

Any chance he lands here and doesn't go really high in the draft?

Unless he drops in the draft significantly, I suspect he will go pro.

Guys a beast. Hit almost .600, a bunch of home runs and RBIs and stole 89 bases for one of the top five high school baseball teams in the natio.

Oh yeah. He was 10-0 with a sub 1.00 ERA and throws 96.

And graduated a year early.

Some you might can get with NIL, college experience, and the LSU legacy…. We need about 10 million in NIL money.

Man baseball recruiting sucks arse because the best recruits never step foot on a college baseball field. I could only image the success LSU would have if those top flight recruits had to attend college like football and basketball.

Kinda like Dylan Crews? One could only imagine what would happen if someone of his caliber attended LSU.

Baseball is an insane recruiting sport.

You have to recruit well

but not too well because those kids all get drafted.

but also Guys like Verlander end up at Old Dominion and Seth Lugo goes to Centinary

Think if the 3 I can remember over the years…. Zach Lee, von Rosenberg, Brice turang. I’m sure there’s others but those I remember were big.

Happens every year. Just in Jay Johnson tenure:

Michael Kennedy - LHP, Robbie Snelling - LHP, Tucker Toman - 3B, Justin Crawford - OF, Jacob Misiorowski (JUCO) - RHP, Mikey Romero - SS, and Adrian Siravo (JUCO) - RHP all signed in 2022 from the Number 1 recruiting class instead of making it to campus. In addition, there were two middle infield transfer portal kids. Carter Young from Vandy and I cannot remember the name of the other from some school in Texass (TCU?) that signed and never made it to campus. At least 3 of the above were round 1 selections (Snelling, Romero and Crawford). Toman and Misiorowski were taken in round 2. Siravo in round 3 and Kennedy in round 4.

In 2023: Blake Mitchell - C

That is at least 9 in the last two years and I probably omitted someone.
