coping mechanism. change is daunting even if it seems run of the mill thru the interwebz

I take it back what I said ab him being asked to leave
If he was promised a starting spot by dropping down a level and getting closer to home I can understand. Although it would be nice if he stayed to continue his development.under the same PC (assuming CNY stays)
And if that's the case than yea, save the Forever LSU bullshite

He was not. And just because he’s in the portal doesn’t he was “processed”. There’s lots of factors and he’s weighting his options. He wants to be at lsu but if he doesn’t see his goals being met a fresh start may be in order. LSU is his number 1 school.

1. You have no way of knowing this.
2. You are an a-hole.
3. Reread #2.

I agree 100%. If you wanna transfer for what you perceive as a better opportunity fine. Don’t say forever LSU bc that’s bs.

It’s clearly not lol

a lot of these kids probably love it here but staying effectively ends all their aspirations. Even if that is just to play baseball a little longer.

Respect their decision baw

Shouldnt have spoken in absolutes I guess. Just my read on the situation
I understand his potential but didn't have a great year and I guess has marginally developed but I'd expect him to drop down a level.
Also giving him the benefit of the doubt bc I know this is his dream school. Likely not leaving on his own volition... hence the forever LSU
If he ends up at another SEC school or someone drops a bag ill stand corrected and owe you a cold one in Vegas, TS

Because none of them are leaving because they don’t love being here. LSU just can’t provide them with the playing time they need

Maybe it’s just a nice thing to say and not leave with any beef. There are many reasons guys transfer, but technically they’ll always be a Tiger. Would “Geaux Tigers” make you happier? I don’t see a difference, nor does it matter that much to me.

Tacky as usual has no idea what nuance is.
A dude can still hold love for LSU, hell it was his first choice, but also understand that if he wants to continue his baseball career, he has to go somewhere else.

Players have to work and produce to get playing time. Age old story as of lately, “if I don’t play I’m going somewhere else instead of working my arse off.”

Why are you under the impression he hasn't been working his arse off?

I take it they're transferring with their head (think business decision) not their heart (think loves LSU).
Basically, the clock is ticking and they wanna spend more time on the pitching mound before their eligibility is up.

Kid puts on the LSU jersey, works his arse off in school, practice, in games, it doesn’t work out for whatever reason, says he’s going to try to look for an opportunity elsewhere to improve his life and a fan has a problem with the kid believing he was a tiger, and a part of him always will be.
You can’t make this shite up.
