And a half decent season from ULL, is football in LA heading in the right direction? Will any instate team besides LSU ever become a Boise State, or at the very least a USM?

doubt it, but ul monroe beat bama hahahaha

...and a young, then healthy, Tulane team pushed Bama around early this season (winning in every stat category, except the one that matters).

If Tech can keep Dooley, they will have more consistent success. However, I don't see them keeping him very long if they become more successful.

...and that's the issue at the mid-major level - the lack of consistency once winning is achieved (example: Bowden/Rodriguez departure after Tulane's undefeated season).

the reason why utah, boise st, and hawaii are able to crash the bcs is because they have no competition recruiting in st talent. theyve gotten a wave a talent come through and have been able to build on that. tulane and la tech have to compete with each other and lsu

The BCS leftovers in LA are better than the athletes produced in Hawaii and Idaho overall.

you forget that guys like urban meyer, and chris peterson are either at or where at those schools. La tech and tulane dont have those kind of coaches

Give Dooley time.

Ulala will lose their running back and be back to humility next year.

Time to use the Techsters as a stepping stone.

Dooley is gone as soon as anyone with a pulse offers him.

You gotta love Tulane fans and their moral victories.

Sorry but ULM is holding the state back, they just took strides backwards after keeping Weatherbie.. When students are making shirts like
"We love our warhawks, but we Weatherbie winning"..
That was last year, this year after he fired his two assistant coaches and posted it in the newstar. The whole town wrote to the news star about how they are losing alumn by keeping him and why no body supports ULM and so on. It is really depressing to tell you the truth.
If you talk to the players they don't want to play for him because they feel he is complacent about losing games as much as winning. He is a good hearted man, but not a good football coach for college. As the players would say. (I lived with 2 this past semester on campus.)
ULM needs to have something like LA Tech. They have a young energetic coach who brought the excitement back in the school, students, and alumns in the football program.

Tulane looks like they're in worse shape with Toledo.
6-18 start (4-8, 2-10)

he's recruited better than anyone has at tulane in years, but i'm starting to think he's washed up. still better than scelfo though, he was even worse and the players hated him

If Toledo can't win more than 2 games next year does he get canned?

Louisiana has way too many Universities for this to happen.
Close ULM, LSUS, LSUA, LSUE, Nicholls, and although it would never happen, Grambling, and lets talk.
