Rape is hugely under reported in modern war.

Pretty much any female combatant captured by a non western army is going to get raped.

And the other thing that's underreported is how many men end up getting raped. When it happens the guy usually doesn't want to talk about it if he survives captivity because he's totally emasculated and embarrassed to admit it.

Its happened since before biblical times and putting women in combat roles is going to be something that we have to think about unless we are ready to accept this as an unequivocally horrible, but realistically unavoidable outcome of fighting non-western combatants.
