Honestly what do we care as long as we get in? A home crowd I get but other than that we are either going to make a run at this thing or we aren't.

It's MUCH more preferable to play at home than on the road. I don't that's a wild conclusion. But LSU is not going to go from debatable as to even making the tournament to a top 16 seed based SOLELY on the results of a few games. Games in which is has to be acknowledged (at least to some degree) some of the teams did not approach the games like they would a weekend series. LSU threw their top 2 pitchers on short rest in games 1 and 2. Georgia and Kentucky didn't. That's not to say LSU wouldn't have won the games even if Georgia and Kentucky did throw their weekend starters, but the regular season provides a truer representation of the strength/weakness of the teams because Georgia and Kentucky wouldn't throw out mid-week guys in the opening game of a series.

If LSU were in Georgia and (especially) Kentucky's shoes you would see COUNTLESS posts on here saying an 11-0 loss in a game where LSU's started a mid-week pitcher should make no difference.
