Lots of information not necessarily heard by the general public: our military today has more 4 star generals, with only 10% of the soldiers, than similar generals in WWII. Each general has a valet, a butler, a cook & a driver. The average soldier in Afghanistan faced significant discipline if he lost his rifle. The U.S. left behind over $80M in arms & military ordinances & EVERY command officer received a promotion; no officer was disciplined in any manner. Prior to the invasion by Russia, the U.S. military had credible evidence that it was going to happen. At that time the Ukranian army was begging for air planes of any type. The U.S. Airforce, in that same period, sent over 2,000+ planes, fully operational, of all kinds to be grounded / retired in the desert. Where they remain today, wasted. Coming to drones in the near future will be ones with facial recognition attached, where one drone could be sent to hit one specific individual based on facial information contained in that drone.

I see this brought up from time to time.

You aren't punished for losing your rifle because of the financial impact to the country...

80Million in arms, plus a rare mineral mining site.

I posted the article that China was there with the taliban as their bitch, mining the minerals. It has also been reported that the Afghanistan hardware, arms was backchannelled to Iran.

Has Kirby at the Pentagon made a statement on where all of the billions left behind in Afghanistan went? Did Milley buy an island or go to a def contractor position?
