I've never been to either so I can't judge against it.
There are definitely prettier cities than Atlanta and San Diego and San Francisco are definitely above Atlanta on that list, I would put my hometown of Pittsburgh above it also, but to think Atlanta is some bland, flat, featureless city is just ignorant.
